James Wilson Morrice family at Mount Royal Cemetery, Montreal

While the artist James Wilson Morrice is buried in Tunis, his family commemorated his death at the family grave. Morrice is one of my favourite Canadian artists.

The Colours of the Irish Flag

A few months after I participated in the Montreal Gazette's online video poetry reading, recorded by Dave Sidaway (a Gazette photographer) in the summer of 2009, I noticed this photograph taken by Dave published in the Gazette. Of course, I wondered, if my poem was being referred to... You can still see the video, there's a link in the box on the right hand side of the screen you're looking at now, under "Morrissey Online".

Percy Leggett obituary 1965

From my files, 10 June 1965

Note: As far back as 1965 (that's 65 years ago) I clipped newspaper articles on subjects I found interesting. I posted this article on Percy Leggett in 2012 and it, and others, has been read by relatives of Percy Leggett. I am not sure that I would want to know Percy Leggett in real life but he is interesting on paper; eccentrics can be difficult to live with. I am happy that members of the Leggett family have enjoyed reading about their eccentric ancestor. 19 August 2025
