Hi Stephen-thanks for keeping this going-I have so much more to get caught up on with your blog! Last week I read a book with a beautiful poem in it -I know this is going to sound stupid-but I had never heard of this style before "sestina" and then after that I ran across this essay someone academic did about poetry in Zimbabwe! I didn't expect to enjoy it that much but really actually did-the author pointed out that he could forgive lousy Zimbabwean poetry more than he could from the western world saying something to the effect of "Think of how we might write if our house was on fire!" I thought that was a great way of putting the current situation there into perspective! all the best to you and I hope you have a beautiful weekend!!
